Plecto is an interactive evolutionary music system that allows the user to influence the system’s evolution of music. Plecto generates music, and the user selects what sounds they enjoy the most, influencing what new music Pletcto creates next. The population of possible music is visually displayed to the user so they can explore new suggestions.
In Plecto ‘[a] family tree of individuals is depicted that links parents to children, allowing users to privately select individuals of interest and mutate them towards a desired aesthetic. Once a pleasing individual
is found, a user can save it to the public population which others can access.
